THE BEAR – A STORY FROM THE WORLD OF GRA

The beings of the WORLD OF GRA all have one big problem. They grow and grow and just won`t stop growing. The creators believe that this theme is a universal human experience – life means change, growth, moving on. They wanted to create a world, which portrays this experience in a playful and poetic way. Mirroring the IP itself, all of them have grown personally and artistically throughout the creation process and their studies at the Animationsinstitut. We create bedtime media, specifically designed in its colors, music and themes to make you a little sleepy”, says Deitmar. “Our transmedial formats tell soft and wholesome stories that reconnect you with that intimate, emotional space that exists just before falling asleep.”

WORLD OF GRA for STUTTGART ANIMATED WEEK 2024

The fact that they were asked to produce the visuals and trailers for FMX, ITFS and APDs 2024 marks a special ‘coming of age’ moment for the team. „It’s a badge of honor to be selected to provide the trailer“, says producer Julius Dorsel. „It’s a little intimidating and just wonderful that so many people are going to see our creatures on the screen.“ Take a look at the trailers and production specs.

The artists are the first ones who produced trailers for all three events of the Stuttgart Animated Week in late April: FMX, the International Festival of Animated Film Stuttgart (ITFS) and the business platform Animation Production Days (APD). „The overall topic of WORLD OF GRA is change and how to deal with it“, says Clara Deitmar, the director and creator of the story universe. „It’s about creatures who outgrow their world and have to move on. It’s about departure and self-discovery.“ For her, the approach resonates with FMX: „We meet other young creators, make new experiences and connect, dealing with change on a collective level.“
