Gesa Engel, CEO, COO, Producer, Head of Development at Uncharted Territory GmbH
Before starting her film career, Gesa studied architecture in Berlin and worked for one of Berlin’s biggest companies for urban development. After receiving her diploma, Gesa was an assistant production designer for UFA, where she worked on the multiple award-winning limited series “The Tunnel”.
Gesa became the head of public relations for the film and TV-production company teamWorx, a subsidiary of UFA.
Intermittently Gesa joined the production company HMR as CEO and producer, and was responsible for founding the Institute for Media and Communication Politics (IfM) in Berlin.
She returned to teamWorx/UFA Cinema as a producer for several films and TV-movies, i.a. the successful family‐film trilogy “The Twins of St. Clare” (Hanni&Nanni by Enid Blyton), and Germany’s box office sensation “I’m Off Then” (Ich bin dann mal weg by Hape Kerkeling.
In 2012 Gesa joined Uncharted Territory as producer and head of development. Current projects are “Orion” (Based on “Raumpatrouille Orion”), several projects with bestselling author Cornelia Funke and also original content.
