The study specialisation Interactive Media is a playground for experimentation. In their studies, the students of Interactive Media have the freedom to realize projects ranging from innovative video games to physical media installations. The format does not matter, the possibilities are endless – just as the creativity of our students. Through the years, Interactive Media projects by the Animationsinstitut have won presitigious prizes including the German Computer Games Award and awards by the internationally renowned SIGGRAPH Asia. Success Story: Dominik Schön

Dominik Schön is an alumnus of the Animationsinstitut who co-developed the 3D sidescroller A JUGGLER'S TALE during his studies. The team of the indie hit, consisting of several Animationsinstitut students at the time, won multiple awards including the German Computer Games Award. After his studies, Dominik founded kaleidoscube, a indie game studio focusing on narrative-driven gaming experiences.

Graduates of Interactive Media work in diverse fields in the media industry. With the practical experience gained during their studies, many of our alumni and alumnae are sought after and have leading positions in national and international companies. Success Story: Lea Schönfelder

Lea Schönfelder is an alumna of the Animationsinstitut who founded her own studio called "Fein Games" after her studies. Their goal: telling stories with a female perspective. This approach is succesful. Most recently, they won the App Store Award 2023 for Cultural Impact!
