What if plastic could be integrated into sea life? Take a deep breath and dive into a world, where feelings of guilt dissolve amongst the mysterious depths of the ocean. A world where we encounter bizarre creatures and discover eerily beautiful landscapes. Unfortunately, our air doesn’t last forever and we have to realize that nature alone can't solve this issue.

The Beauty had a pretty successful festival season: The elaborate VFX production was able to conquer national and international stages, picking up numerous nominations and awards. In addition to the Jury's Choice Award of SIGGRAPH 2020 and the VES Award, the short film was also recently honored with the prestigious Student Academy Award.

We asked Director Pascal Schelbli how it feels to finally set The Beauty free after this exciting time:

"It's been a blast what's happened with The Beauty over the last 1.5 years and I'm even happier that we can now share it with the whole world. I'm really excited for the whole team that the film was so successful. It's great that the heart and soul invested and the many hours of work have been repaid in the form of this great recognition. It also shows us, that we seem to have done some things right in our way of making the film, in terms of both content and technology.

I am also very pleased that the topic of ocean pollution is getting a wider reach through our film. It's nice to have some sort of social impact. So help me out, share our film and comment! People should start to think about what is happening to our planet. Climate change is real and it's better to start early and now than someday too late."
