Project Info

S.M.I.L.E. is an interactive hidden picture book for children aged five to seven years. Readers can interact with the analog world by means of augmented reality. Together with Lisa, the kids travel to different planets to spread laughter in the universe.

This prototype for an augmented reality children‘s book breaks new ground in interactive storytelling. In the game, a smartphone is used as a magic magnifier, as a tool to achieve a specific goal. S.M.I.L.E. thus allows children a gentle and responsible way to use a smartphone. Again and again, this interactive approach breaks through the barriers between the digital and the analog world. The puzzles in the book can be solved by clicking the screen as well as by coloring pictures or making things.

Project Info

"Free the users from their lonely experience and connect them with the outside world!" – VR TRIBES is an asymmetrical VR multiplayer game for four players, where three tribes living on an island join forces to defend their world against an enormous, mysterious being.
VR TRIBES is played with one person in VR against three further non-VR players, with the latter three acting as in usual third-person games. While the VR player with headset and controllers is fully immersed in the game, the players on the “outside” have a joystick and a button each at their disposal as input devices, as well as a monitor as their “viewing window” to the virtual world.

This form of asymmetrical VR multiplayer game allows for a VR experience with group dynamics. The gameplay forces the “outsiders” to communicate with each other. This results in a sociable, fun and communicative experience for active players and onlookers alike.
