FMX is an important part of Animationsinstitut’s curriculum. It is a big plus for students that they can build a network for their future careers there.

Prof. Andreas Hykade, Head of Animation Directing

As a student at Animationsinstitut, you not only have the opportunity to learn first-hand about the latest artistic and technological trends and innovations, but you get the chance to present your student projects to an international audience as part of the Filmakademie Projects conference program.

In addition, you can easily establish direct contacts with the industry: at School Campus, you will be able to exchange ideas with students in your field from all over the world, or network with Filmakademie alumni. At the FMX Recruiting Hub, you can introduce yourself to well-known studios and companies. As a Student Guide, you can personally take care of a speaker and expand your network in the industry while you are still studying. Our animation student Arne Hain was a student guide for stop-motion legend Phil Tippett during FMX, and this led to an intensive collaboration that resulted in Arne working on scenes for STAR WARS - THE RISE OF SKYWALKER.

In addition, top-class speakers from FMX teach as guest lecturers at Animationsinstitut and provide in-depth insights into developments in the industry. This not only allows you to ask your questions directly to international experts, but also gives you a direct insight into the industry.
