From Animationsinstitut straight to working on a Star Wars blockbuster – thanks to FMX! The international conference organized once a year by Filmakademie and Animationsinstitut puts you in touch with important industry representatives. The four-day event is, of course, free of charge for Filmakademie students!
At FMX in Stuttgart’s Haus der Wirtschaft, creative minds and international experts from the fields of animation, effects, games and immersive media get together. Here you have the chance to gain first-hand information on the latest trends and innovations in art and technology.
Top-class speakers provide you with deep insights into industry developments in presentations, workshops, master classes and Company Suites. The latest tools, technologies and business models are introduced and discussed. Well-known studios and companies scout for new talent at the Recruiting Hub. On the School Campus, you can exchange ideas with other students specialized in your field of study from around the world.
You have the opportunity to present your study projects to an international audience as part of the Conference program. As a Student Guide, you personally look after a lecturer and thus establish useful contacts for your future career in the industry.
For example, our animation student Arne Hein got to know stop-motion legend Phil Tippett at FMX. This has developed into a close working relationship, resulting in Arne’s collaboration on scenes of Star Wars – The Rise of Skywalker.
You can be a part of it too: The next edition of FMX takes places online on May 4-6, 2021.
You can find further information on the FMX website.
