| Festival News: January 2019

How can 2018 already be over? At the end of the year we had a lot of reasons to celebrate:

MindPalace (Director: Carl Krause, Dominik Stockhausen | Producer: Malte Stehr | Technical Lead: Nikolai Maderthoner), received a nomination for an Annie Award in the category "Best Virtual Reality Production" and Augenblicke (Director & Producer: Kiana Naghshineh) in the category "Annie Award for Best Student Film".

Moreover, Tiefenrausch VR (Director: Monja Dietrich | Producer: Vincent Waltan) won the "Best Virtual & Augmented Reality Content" award at Siggraph Asia.

Our students' projects received numerous other awards and nominations:

Things are still going well for Augenblicke: The film won the "Premio Del Jurado Para Corto Universitario" at the Cut Out Fest in Mexico, the "Best Animation Short Film" at the Sierra International Film Weekend and the "Special Golden Jabberwocky for the best animation" at the ANIMA competition of Etiuda&Anima 2018 Festival. Augenblicke was also selected for the Bogota Short Film Festival.

Paris You Got Me (Director: Julie Böhm | Producer: Aleksandra Todorovic, Ann-Katrin Boberg) won many awards as well. The film won the "Outstanding International Student Film Award" at ISFVF Beijing, the "Best Visual Effects Short Film" at CSFF China, the "Best Editing" and "Young Choice Award" at the PuntoDiVista Film Festival in Cagliari and the "Best Visual Effects", "Best Production Design" and "Best Fiction Short Film" awards at the Roots of Europe International Film Festival. Paris You Got Me can also be seen at the Fescora Festival in Spain, the Punto Vista Festival in Italy, the St. Cloud Film Festival in the USA, the Izmir Kisa Film Festivali in Turkey, the Greenwich Village Film Festival in New York and the Concurso Sociedad Cultural des Audiovisuales in Paraguay.

Fuse (Director: Shadi Adib | Producer: Stefan Michel) will be screened at the Anchorage Film Festival and Animateka in Slovenia.

CatPlanets (Director: Yi Luo | Producer: Michael Bohnenstingl) runs at the Anilogue International Animation Festival in the special program "WHAT WAS THAT? EXTREMELY SHORT ANIMATIONS".

Conscious Existence (Director: Marc Zimmermann | Producer: Felix Fahle) was awarded the prize "Best Visual VR Content" at the Lumière Awards of the Stereopsia Festival in Brussels.
