LOST

Format: PC VR Experience

Duration: 10 minutes

"Lost" is a interactive VR Experience, which is played via Metaquest and hand-tracking. You step into the shoes of the old gardener Emilia.

In a beautiful garden, you discover her idyllic place of safety and calmness, until a storm arrives and destroys everything - even within you. After you recover, you find that you have lost control over your body: your hands are mirrored, and movements no longer work as expected.

It is now up to you to rebuild the garden and relearn how to navigate and interact with the world. A journey of recovery begins inside yourself and the garden around you.

Directing & 3D Art

JAN KLINGNER

Jan Klingner specializes in 3D Art and Unreal Engine, with a passion for interactive storytelling in VR. Besides his student projects, he worked as 3D Artist for the productions of an animated feature film, award wining game projects and the student oscar awarded shortfilm "A Sparrow's Song".

CYRIL FISCHER

Cyril Fischer is currently pursuing a degree in Interactive Media (Transmedia & Games Producing) at the Animationsinstitut of the Film Academy Baden-Württemberg, where his primary focus lies in the field of XR.

Technical Directing

HANNES STURM

Hannes is a dedicated game developer and technical artist specializing in machine learning and real-time technologies. He has a great passion for developing immersive narratives and distinguishes himself by combining technical innovation with creative storytelling.

JOSHUA HANK

Joshua Hank studied Sounddesign & Composition at the Trossingen University of Music and realized the sound design of various games from horror to jump n' run.

TRISTAN STEINMETZ

Tristan Steinmetz is studying Sound Design at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg and has already worked on projects such as "Wolken über Lützerath", "Huldufólk","Stigma" and on interactive VR experiences.

CLEMENS GUTJAHR

Clemens Gutjahr is a composer for film, games, and theater. In 2025, he was awarded the Peer Raben Music Award for the music in the shortfilm "Detlev". He also composed the scores for two Annie Award Nominees and semifinalists at the Student Academy Awards 2025: "polliwog" - also longlisted for a student BAFTA - and "The Undying Pain of Existence."

Illustration

NICOLAS SPERLING

After a degree in illustration, Nicolas specialized in concept art and storyboard at the Animationsinstitut. He gained practical experience in a KiKA animation production and in his work as a freelancer, and among other things, also in supporting several student projects at the Animationsinstitut.
