Animation Sans Frontières (ASF) – the European Animation Production WorkshopAnimation Producing on an international scopeMore than ten years ago, four successful European animation schools created Animation Sans Frontières to provide a further training programme for young animation filmmakers, producers, script writers and technical directors.
Led by the Animation Workshop in Viborg/Denmark, the Animationsinstitut, GOBELINS l’école de l’image in Paris and Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design in Budapest designed this workshop with the aim to bring together animation professionals with various backgrounds from all over Europe.
In four modules of two weeks – each taking place at one of the participating schools – the participants learn a lot about finding ideas, budgeting, financing, new technologies and producing animation-based media formats. On top of that, they work in teams developing their own projects. At the end of the last module, these projects are pitched to a jury of professionals from the media and animation industry. Animation for TV, games, series and feature films, traditional and new production processes as well as analogue techniques and state-of-the-art technologies are some workshop topics.
Since 2008, 16 young media professionals from all over Europe participate each year in ASF. Meanwhile, ASF alumni form a strong European network.
ASF is co-financed by the Creative Europe programme of the EU. Find more information about ASF and how to apply animationsansfrontieres.eu
