River is a VR, story exploration game for Oculus Touch. The player takes on the role of a nameless ferryman, discovers a mystic swamp and releases trapped souls of bronze age warriors and citizens. The Oculus Touch controllers are used to paddle through the open world of the gloomy swamp and interact with the souls. Some of the souls need a quest to be resolved in order to free them from their earthly chains. The swamp symbolizes the border between life and death, where the souls of restless dead men linger until they are sent to a better (or even worse?) place by the player.
River uses real references: the Hallstatt culture settled in England a thousand years before ancient roman did. They built Stonehenge and grave-mounds, they were druids and brought tin from the European continent.
