At the International Film & Photo Festival of Students in Teheran DESCENDANTS was awarded "Best Animation Film". The "Special Jury Prize - Animation" went to LEBENSADER. In Mumbai URS received the "Jury Special Mention" at the CGTantra Community Awards. MOBILE won the "Golden Moon Award" at the FilmKunstFest Schwerin". The Audience Award of the Festival International des Très Courts in Paris went to BOB. LEBENSADER won the "Dusan Vukovic Award" at the Animafest Zagreb for best student film and ONLY HUMAN the award for "Best Commissioned Film".

The newly revised version features support for all current Autodesk Maya versions, improvements and updates to the existing tools and also includes a stand-alone application for facial motion capture data analysis: the Expression Solver.

18.12.2009 - Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg releases Public Facial Data-set.



The Filmakademie Public Facial Data-set is a project aimed to advance research and development in the domain of performance capture and facial animation. Utilizing the Mova® Contour™ Reality Capture System allowed us to build a library of facial movements at a never before seen accuracy. The total data-set consists of about 170 facial actions from which currently only 25 have been processed.

16.10.2008 - Activision uses Technology from the Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg in their new James Bond video game.



Activision Blizzard - the world's largest video game publisher - builds on facial animation technology created at Filmakademie's R&D Lab to raise the bar for in-game characters in the upcoming James Bond video game Quantum of Solace™. "Using the tools allowed us to enhance our production pipelines and shorten times for creating believable character animation," says Filippo Costanzo, Head of Research and Development. The technology was developed within the research project "Artificial Actors" at the Filmakademie's Institute of Animation.

Quantum of Solace will be available for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, Wii, PlayStation 2 and Nintendo DS on October 31st.
